Ariel-X - Press Release, September 2004
ARIEL-X release debut album ‘Bi Polar’, October 25th
"A love of squalling guitars, alien effects and bruising walls of noise
splits their hit-hungry, kick-ass stomp into a three-way fight between
Placebo, Nine Inch Nails and Jane’s Addiction, making the whole thing a
heady rush that’s high on energy and hard on eardrums" Kerrang!
"Criminally contagious" The Fly
"nods to the likes of The New York Dolls, yet with all the energy and aggression of the finest REAL punk" LOGO Magazine
"Ridiculously great" Playlouder
London based rockers Ariel-X will release their debut album ‘Bi Polar’
through Undergroove on October 25th. (NU012)
Recorded at Moles Studio, Bath with Paul Corkett (Placebo, The Cure, Cooper
Temple Clause), ‘Bi Polar’ is littered with infectious tracks of power pop for a deranged generation. It’s an album of extremes - unafraid to be different and
lavishly eloquent in its execution.
Adding their own twists on life’s rich tapestry of break-ups, jealousy,
heartache and soul searching, Ariel-X have created their
own special world. They deliver a brand of new-wave rock that combines the
energy and sloganeering of early Manics, the melodic
sensibilities of the Smashing Pumpkins and the abrasion of PJ Harvey.
Ariel X have been gigging up and down the country since their inception
some 16 months ago, building an ever increasing fan base along the way. A
limited edition single and accompanying video for the song ‘Mute’ saw the quartet enjoy airplay on both Scuzz TV and Kerrang! TV for over 12 weeks.
To support the release of ‘Bi Polar’, the band will be hitting the road throughout October and November.
