Blind Jackson - Press Release, December 2004

Release Debut Mini Album, 7th February 2005
“...an insane melding of insidious post-punk grove and killer ‘60s melody...” Hybrid Magazine (USA)
“…a quirky'n'likeably louche beat group affair with elements of the Deltasonic stable and - in the lippy, Jagger-ish vocals and inevitable organ sound - a love for the "Nuggets" box set both rising to the surface.” Whisperin and Hollerin fanzine
London-based 6-piece Blind Jackson release their eponymous debut mini album through Deadskool on 7th February 2005 (Cat: 003).
Recorded at Gizzard Studios, East London, with Holly Golightly producer Ed Deegan, the album showcases a quirky, infectious and incendiary new wave pop sound. Fronted by the frenetic vocals of Simon Badham, Blind Jackson have garnered comparisons to XTC and The Coral.
In the past year the band have played across the UK, released 3 independent singles and received considerable airplay on 6Music and XFM, as well as some college radio stations in the States. Virgin Radio’s Pete Mitchell is a fan of the band and recently invited them to do a session for his ‘Razor Cuts’ show.
Blind Jackson will be on tour throughout the UK in February and March. In the meantime, they play two headline London shows:
Dec 20th Water Rats
Jan 18th Metro
