Bob Schneider - new album ‘I’m Good Now’ out 17th October

Michigan-born and Austin-based maverick singer songwriter Bob Schneider releases a new album in the UK this October. ‘I’m Good Now’ is already out in the US and was named ‘Album of the Year’ at his hometown’s recent Music Awards.

Veering from the dusty Counting Crows-esque rock of opener ‘Come With Me Tonight’ to a heavier Pearl Jam-like sound, ‘I’m Good Now’ still doesn’t tell us everything about this colourful and versatile showman.

Schneider gained his first performing experience as a youngster backing his musician father on drums at gigs in Munich, where he grew up. Fronting a succession of his own bands throughout the 90s, he experimented in funk-rock with Joe RockHead, freeform soul with The Ugly Americans and raunchy party music with The Scabs.

In 1998, Bob ventured into more introspective territory with a solo outfit, Lonelyland. The resulting self-titled album became the biggest-selling record of all time at Austin’s landmark Waterloo Records and lead to a deal with Universal. These days, the Bob Schneider Group play weekly shows in Austin to a loyal army of fans. Their hyperactive two-hour set gives Bob the chance to explore his many different personae.

‘I’m Good Now’ was produced by Bob Schneider Group guitarist Billy Harvey. In typical nihilist fashion, Bob says that the title refers to ‘being dead’. He also puts his years spent studying art in El Paso into good use, adding his trademark tortured imagery to the CD artwork and his award winning website.
