Duke special - Press Release, Aug 2005

Duke Special – new single ‘Freewheel’ out October 10th (Hag / Izumi)

‘Freewheel, with heartbreaking falsetto flurries, is the song Neil Finn always wanted to write' ****- Chris Roberts, Uncut

Belfast singer songwriter Duke Special releases Freewheel this October as the second single from his acclaimed ‘Adventures In Gramophone’ album. A firm favourite at his distinctively quirky live shows, Freewheel demonstrates the Duke’s way with a heartfelt poetic lyric and a huge singalong chorus.

The single will be available for download at all major sites and as a special edition 78rpm 10-inch vinyl, and includes two new bonus tracks. ‘Something Might Happen’ was recorded live at Howard Jones’ house. The ‘Freewheel’ video was funded by the Northern Ireland Music Industry Commission and directed by John Hollingsworth. It can be viewed at www.floorless.com/dukespecial/ds.mov
