The Electric Cinema - Press Release, January 2007
New single ‘Cut Down’
12th March 2007, Sugarlow Records, SL003 (CD), SL004 (7")
‘The missing link between Conor Oberst's dizziest interludes and The Flaming Lips' more celebratory songs of praise.’ - Drowned In Sound
‘Anthemic without reeking of Snow Patrol and quirky without being too saccharinely Polyphonic Spree-esque, The Electric Cinema’s first offering is uplifting indie that stomps around the place full of self-confidence and thumping drums.’ – Word
Watford 4-piece The Electric Cinema release ‘Cut Down’ as a second single from their self-titled debut album this March. The follow-up to XFM-playlisted single ‘Heat Exchange’, it’s a typical slice of warm, analogue indie pop.
‘Cut Down’ is available on CD, 7” vinyl and at all major download sites and comes with a brand new song ‘Diagrams’. The video was directed by Babanuki and filmed in a warehouse in Stoke Newington.
