Widely regarded as one of Ireland’s finest songwriters, Nick Kelly first came to prominence as lead singer and songwriter with The Fat Lady Sings, the band responsible for such classic singles as ‘Arclight’, ‘Deborah’ and ‘Drunkard Logic’.

‘Running Dog’ is the long-awaited follow-up to Nick’s acclaimed debut solo album ‘Between Trapezes’, which Hot Press Magazine described as ‘Album Of The Decade’, NME hailed as ‘precious in every sense of the word’ and which won Nick the accolade of Best Solo Male Artist at the Heineken Hot Press Irish Music Critics Awards for 1998/99.

Like ‘Between Trapezes’, the record was partly funded by fans who paid for their copies in advance. Their loyalty has been rewarded with an album that continues a rich trajectory of stately emotional pop that sits somewhere between The Blue Nile and vintage REM. From the radio friendly You’re Gonna Fall to the hypnotic The Loneliest Ghost In Pere Lachaise, Kelly illustrates his tableau of romance and regret with elegantly crafted melodies set in sublimely hewn arrangements.

‘Running Dog’ was produced by Sean (Doctor) Millar and Joe Chester (ex-Ten Speed Racer) and has already received rave reviews in Ireland, where it was released in January. Nick will be touring the UK in October to promote the release.
