Labelmates of Helene and Magoo, The Pony Collaboration release their charming self-titled debut album this April.

With an ever expanding line-up featuring piano, glockenspiel, melodica, viola and percussion, their chaotic live sets and peculiarly English take on Americana have earned them a small but devoted following.

The album was recorded for next to nothing in a spare room in the suburbs of Cambridge. If you listen carefully, you may be able to hear the neighbours doing DIY next door. On the album, several tracks are complemented by a string quartet. They had to be recorded in a school hall, because they wouldn’t all fit into the studio.

‘Slumming Expedition’ is scheduled to be released as a single in May.
