The Hazey Janes Release Single 'Your Enemy', 23rd January 2006
Dundee-based four-piece The Hazey Janes release ‘Your Enemy’ in January as the lead-off single from forthcoming debut album ‘Hotel Radio’.
The Hazey Janes serve up life-affirming indie-pop, pacey and rocky, with a respectful nod to both the past (Big Star, The Beach Boys) and the present (The Magic Numbers, Rilo Kiley).
‘Your Enemy’ was recorded with legendary Spanish producer Paco Loco (Josh Rouse/Golden Smog) at his studios in Cadiz. The track is a 2m 49s drive-time College Radio ride, which will leave you tingling.....well after the engine's turned off. The song was conceived in a Dundee tenement, but sounds like it should have been in the back of a car. Power riffs, three part harmonies and a punky, dirty rhythm make 'Your Enemy' a sweet, brief, but very satisfying encounter of love and hate.
The single will be available in CD and digital download formats - both feature two exclusive bonus tracks, ‘Feel Alright’ and ‘Piecebaggers’. The second of these additional tracks was actually written by a friend of the band, who sadly died a few years ago. The Hazey Janes often perform 'Piecebaggers' live and wanted to record the song as a tribute to their friend.
