The Hazey Janes Release Debut Mini Album, 25th October 2004

The Hazey Janes are a four-piece from Dundee who formed in 1999. Their music is a rich and original fusion of folk, country rock and power-pop, reminiscent of Big Star and Velvet Crush. The band’s songwriting and performance is characterised by their warm and melodious three-part harmonies.

The last few years have seen The Hazey Janes tour extensively throughout the UK, both as headlining artists and as guests of major acts (including Snow Patrol and Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci). Recent shows include: T in the Park, The Wickerman Festival, Glasgow’s Hogmanay celebration, and, in December 2003, a headline slot at their home town Christmas Festival, where they performed in front of more than 20,000 people.

Recently the band have been working with producer Mark Freegard (The Manic Street Preachers and The Breeders) to record their eponymous debut mini album. The record is set for release on 25th October via Measured Records (Cat: Mr Hazey 001).
