New single ‘Absent Friend’ available December 5th

Hot on the heels of a well attended In The City performance, London based four piece Zillionaire release ‘Absent Friend’ as a download-only single in December.

Lifted from their forthcoming debut album, it’s a typically languid slice of melodic rock that layers insistent, atmospheric grooves beneath the husky emotive vocals of Stephan Tomasek (likened to ‘a hushed Dave Grohl’ in a recent Record Collector review). Like all the tracks on the album, ‘Absent Friend’ was recorded and produced by the band in a bedroom on Abbey Road. 

Zillionaire were founded by Tomasek and guitarist Anthony Hall, who share an eclectic set of influences including Air, Jeff Buckley, Pink Floyd and Aimee Mann. They manage to reflect this diversity, yet thread a distinctive feel throughout the album - a unique sound that has seen an international online fanbase spiral to very healthy numbers. Meanwhile, their live London residency (at The Steele’s) continues to grow in popularity.

The single will be available for download at all major sites from December 5th, and the album will be out via Universal in January. Zillionaire will also be going into the studio with former Stone Roses producer Paul Schroeder in November to record a new version of their next single ‘For Someone’.
