ZILLIONAIRE - PRESS RELEASE - October 2006

New EP ‘Not So Beautiful Now’ available 4th December

‘Slow burning, languid pop that pushes all the right emotional buttons’ - TNT
‘lush and assured’ **** - The Sun

London based 4 piece Zillionaire release a brand new EP ‘Not So Beautiful Now’ on 4 December. It’s the first in a series of 4 exclusive download bundles, one of which will be made available every 6 weeks between now and May.

All 4 songs were recorded at Monnow Valley Studios in Wales with producer Paul Schroeder (Stone Roses, The Verve). Paul and Monnow Valley owner, Jo Hunt, were so impressed after hearing Zillionaire perform at In The City 2005, they both offered their services for free – reworking tracks that had originally been laid down in a bedroom studio on Abbey Road, using just one SM58 mic.

Frontman Stephan Tomasek’s smoky and emotive vocals, coupled with sweeping Jeff Buckley-esque melodies, lend the band a romantic moody quality which seems to reflect something of their New Zealand roots. The songs speak of the high and low times found in love and life (Not So Beautiful Now), the challenges of the morning after that night before (High Times), and the loyalty found in the hardest moments friendship can face (Champagne).

Fans can download the EP for free at www.zillionaireband.com until 4 December and then need to pay in order to continue listening after this date.

The EP release party will be at The Luminaire in Kilburn, London, on 29 November with support from Belarus and Rodney Fisher.
